Hi, I'm Landon. I am here to provide students with a positive and comfortable environment that encourages students to thrive. I wasn't always a good student. I grew up in a community that had a high-performance school district. I often struggled to feel like I belonged. My peers seemed to make excellent grades while putting forth little to no effort and it astonished me. I would spend numerous hours studying flash cards, reading the material, and practicing problems, and it seemed like I would get nowhere. I am thankful to have had great teachers, tutors, and mentors along the way who taught me the techniques and strategies to learn effectively. Most of the time I felt embarrassed to ask for help, incompetent, and unmotivated, so it was crucial to my success to receive such strong support from these people.Through their amazing patience and teaching skills, I became successful enough to land a spot in my dream college and I am now pursuing my dream job. Because those doors have been opened to me, I wish to open them for others. I want to use my struggles and successes to help other students that are in the same place I once was. I strive to offer my students a one-on-one relationship that allows them to communicate their frustrations and feelings. From there, I am able to create a lesson plan that fits their learning needs. I make it a personal goal to guide my students into loving to learn. I offer motivation and build their confidence both outside and inside of the classroom.
