Hello, I’m Michaela. I am a recent graduate from Fairfield University. I’m still enrolled there to earn my Master’s Degree in Secondary Education. I’ve been tutoring informally since 9th grade helping friends here and their with homework whenever they needed it. Officially I’ve been tutoring for 3 years both on campus at the Math Center and off campus at Mathnasium. I’ve worked at tutoring centers as well as tutored privately. I began tutoring because I love to teach, which is why I’m currently working towards my degree. I tutor generally in math since it is my subject of expertise. However I have helped students edit papers and study for other subject such as Science and Elementary Spanish. I’ve work with students of all ages including adults enrolled in school. I’ve studied with most types of mathematics and want to help students understand and have fun with math as much as I do. I know that students all learn in different ways and I change my approach based on how each student learns. I understand that not everyone has a math brain or enjoys math in the same way I do. However, I believe that understanding math is an important skill to have.

Hobbies
I have worked with kids of all ages since I was 12 years old. I mostly worked at summer camps and tutored. In my spare time I love being outside. I love going for walks, riding bikes, swimming at the beach. Honestly any outdoor activity is fun. I love watching and playing rugby. I played for four years of college and absolutely love the sport! I love watching crime tv and reading spy novels. I love playing board games with friends and family. Above all I just love having fun and laughing.
